Overview

Pearl’s Veterinary Surgery offers a wide range of surgical procedures at a reduced cost for dogs, cats, and rabbits. We are always open to discuss surgeries not listed below or on our website. As we work on an outpatient basis, we do not offer overnight care or after-hours emergency visits. Should your pet require long-term hospitalization, we would refer you back to your regular veterinarian for continued care. Depending on the type of surgery performed, we may require a consultation or veterinarian referral prior to surgery. We do offer vaccines, bloodwork, and microchips at the time of surgery

In August of 2023, wildfires devastated the island of Maui, hitting the town of Lahaina the hardest. After all was said and done roughly 3,000 pets were reported missing or displaced and more than one hundred people lost their lives. Maui Humane Society (MHS) jumped into action to help locate, reunite, and treat hundreds of injured animals, while calling on the community for assistance. With the support of his wife Jenny (a career shelter worker), Dr. Kasey Carter responded to the call, helping Maui Humane Society treat and care for Maui’s four-legged survivors. While volunteering with MHS, one cat in particular (named Dreamsicle by her previous caretaker in Lahaina) found her way into Dr. Carter’s heart. Despite severe burns, multiple surgeries, and months of treatment, Dreamsicle persevered due to her resilient nature. After spending some time with this special cat, Dr. Carter and Jenny made the decision to adopt her into their family. Over time, ‘Dreamsicle’ slowly became ‘Pearl’, and Dr. Kasey and Jenny began the acclimation process with Pearl’s adopted family – two dogs named Frank and Kevin – and a cat-like rabbit named Roland. As time went on in her new environment, Pearl’s confidence continued to grow. She is responsible for raising many foster kittens and thriving in her forever home. Pearl’s ability to survive is the direct result of a community’s love and determination to overcome devastation, and she is the inspiration behind the name “Pearl’s Veterinary Surgery”. Dr. Carter and Jenny are forever grateful for their 30+ combined years of veterinary/animal welfare experience at Dumb Friends League in Denver and at Hawaiian Humane Society on Oahu

Mission — Our mission at Pearl’s Veterinary Surgery is to provide increased access to affordable, high-quality, surgical services to help aid in the prevention of pet suffering. We believe that the human-animal bond should be preserved for all families, including those who may be experiencing economic hardship or financial restrictions. We do not provide overnight care or general wellness services. By solely focusing on surgery, we can keep our prices affordable and improve the health and longevity of pets that may otherwise go untreated
