McCaw Veterinary Associates has a rich history spanning back to its opening in 1974. As with any practice that's been in business for half a century, there have been many changes. Nevertheless, the staff at McCaw Veterinary Associates has never compromised its dedication to provide the best possible veterinary care to all of its patients. 1974: Dr. Bill McCaw Sr. graduated from Auburn in 1974. He then began a mixed large and small animal practice in the basement of a duplex on Glencove Drive in Nicholasville, Kentucky. His wife Jean McCaw was his first employee! Dr. Will McCaw Jr. was born in October of that year. 1980: McCaw Vet, as it was named then, relocated to a newly built facility at its current location at 501 N. Main Street, Nicholasville, Kentucky. 2001: Dr. Will McCaw Jr. graduated from Auburn and joined the practice alongside his father. 2006: A new wing was added to the original building. This addition included a large surgery room, dental room, an examination space, and upstairs office spaces. 2015: Dr. Tim Twehues, an Auburn graduate, joined the practice. 2017: Dr. Sara Clay Howe, an Auburn graduate, joined the practice
