Overview
Veterinarians to the Rescue (VTTR) is a 501c3 non-profit founded with the purpose of reducing economic euthanasias for small animals. VTTR follows a process to provide veterinary services at reduced or, in some cases, no cost
Veterinarians to the Rescue (VTTR) was founded in early 2022 by Dr. Warren in Lexington, Kentucky. From its inception, the aim of VTTR was to reduce the number of economic euthanasias. As a veterinary practice owner for nearly 20 years, Dr. Warren had seen first-hand the heartbreaking impact that economic euthanasias have. Upon establishing a board consisting of members with key areas of experience and expertise, a multi-phase approach was followed to gradually scale the organization. The phase approach allowed the organization to begin realizing its mission immediately while laying a foundation for maximizing its impact in the future. Phase One of VTTR saw the organization assisting other 501c3 rescue groups and animal shelters by providing procedures including and beyond spay and neuter services at heavily reduced fees. Transitioning to Phase Two, VTTR began to expand its offerings to the general public. VTTR provided life saving medical and/or surgical procedures at a reduced cost to those members of the general public that could demonstrate a qualifying economic need. Building upon the successes of working with organizations and the public, VTTR moved into Phase Three where the organization worked directly with the community to have a positive impact on the future of our cause. In Phase Three, VTTR began conducting community outreach efforts and events to underserved and poverty-stricken communities
