In 2011, a group of passionate women, struggling with the number of animals destroyed through euthanasia in their local animal shelter, joined the grassroots movement sweeping across the country to end kill shelters. Together with the support of their local community, generous supporters, and passionate animal advocates, they founded the volunteer-driven, non-profit animal advocacy organization that is known today as The Spay Neuter Project. Dedicating the time and energy previously given to organizations that participated in an outdated practice, to the only proven solution to pet overpopulation in animal shelters and rescues...SPAY & NEUTERING!
Mission — The mission of Spay Neuter Project, under the umbrella of No Kill Columbia, seeks to end kill shelters, pet overpopulation, and the rampant spread of diseases through providing affordable access to high-quality spay and neuter surgery, and life-saving vaccinations for the most vulnerable companion animal populations and the communities in which they reside
