Overview

We are a locally-owned, non-corporate animal hospital located in both Liberty and Kansas City, MO. We offer a wide variety of services, from preventive care to specialty care, surgery, and emergency care. We commonly see referrals for rehabilitation and pain consultations. Did you know we are the only hospital certified in rehabilitation and as a pain practitioner in the KC metro? For a secure place to stay, we also offer a resort boarding facility for dogs and cats

Ark Animal Hospital has its roots as the oldest veterinary practice in Liberty, Missouri. Originally owned and operated by Dr. Pimberton, the first vet in the area. In 1961, Dr. Bales took over the practice and renamed it Bales Animal Hospital. At that time, the clinic was located below the drugstore on the Liberty Square. In 1970, Dr. Bales moved the practice next to the bowling alley. Dr. Denny joined the practice in 1991, working alongside his childhood vet until Dr. Bales retired in 1995. Ark Animal Hospital was renamed and relocated to its current location in 2002
