In mid-2008, the Spay & Neuter planning team was formed to research proven methods for reducing the number of unwanted animals entering the shelter and make recommendations for the Pine Belt area. After careful research and planning, the clinic opened its doors in July of 2009, offering high-quality, low-cost sterilization surgeries for cats and dogs. With the support of grants and donors, the clinic is able to provide basic health services to pet owners in the community. In January 2021, the clinic underwent a rebranding to better reflect our mission. Our new name, Southern Pines Healthy Pet Clinic, reflects our commitment to providing high-quality health services to pets and their owners
