When Brandon Adley inexplicably volunteered to clean kennels at a local veterinary clinic in the late nineties, he had no idea how it would change the trajectory of his life or the animals he would meet. Dr. Adley had intended to go to medical school to become a pediatrician. After two weeks of cleaning kennels, he decided to also apply to veterinary school. To his surprise, and no one else's, he was accepted to both medical and veterinary school. While fishing with his dad, Brandon brought up the possibility of choosing veterinary school over medical school. His father suggested that medical school would be more financially rewarding. At that moment, Dr. Brandon Adley realized something that would be a guiding principle in how he lived and worked throughout his whole life – 'If you have to get up and do something every day, you should at least enjoy it. There’s something to be said about enjoying what you do.' And for over 23 years, Dr. Adley has been doing just that. The joy Dr. Brandon Adley discovered in veterinary care has only grown with time. Speaking about the animals he gets to interact with each day, he said, 'I like to help them and treat them. There is something unique and rewarding about the look on their faces when they go home. It just makes you happy that you helped them.'
