Overview

Our veterinarian-owned practice aims to provide comprehensive medical care with heart. We treat your animals as we would our own and value each family's individual needs, expectations, and budgets. We pride ourselves on our medical knowledge and skills, honesty, empathy, dedication, and ability to go the extra mile for you. We are a full service veterinary hospital and provide wellness services as well as complete sick and injured animal care and surgery. We are pleased to provide services for dogs and cats as well as horses, dairy cattle, beef cattle, and small ruminants

The first generation of our practice was founded in 1996 as Berlin Veterinary Clinic by Dr. Steven Carey, DVM. Dr. Megan Rumpke, DVM joined Dr. Carey's practice in May, 2018. In September of 2018, Dr. Nicolas Drolet, DVM and Dr. Rumpke purchased Berlin Veterinary Clinic, which then became Montpelier Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Carey and Dr. Rumpke worked together through January, 2018 until Dr. Cary entered retirement. Dr. Drolet joined the practice full time soon after. Dr. Drolet is a native Vermonter who followed his great-grandfather and grandfather into the profession of veterinary medicine. At one time, his grandfather was the state veterinarian of Vermont. The acquisition of Montpelier Veterinary has fulfilled his lifelong dream of practice ownership. Dr. Rumpke joined Dr. Drolet in Vermont in 2017 after growing up in the Midwest and practicing for a few years in Texas. The two met in veterinary school and married in spring of 2021. Dr. Goucher and Dr. Murray joined the practice in 2021
